This year, the Almere Botterrace celebrated its 30th anniversary and offered more than just competition on the water. It was an opportunity to build relationships, support local charities, and experience the maritime history of Almere, all carried by the hospitality of Restaurant Bakboord. Restaurant Bakboord was honored to host this special event and feels very proud that it turned out to be such a great success.
The day began with a festive reception at Restaurant Bakboord, where all participants were warmly welcomed with coffee, tea, and pastries. This was followed by the welcome speech, an explanation, and the official opening by our mayor, Hein van der Loo. The Botterrace then commenced, during which the participants enjoyed a fully catered lunch on board during the race. The day ended on a high note at Restaurant Bakboord, with a lively borrel featuring a live band and an array of delicious snacks and drinks.
